Sirona and Katie,
So many true and good things were said already!! I don't have that much to add. But I certainly understand the feelings you are having.
Just had my first real brush with shunning a couple of weeks ago. I thought it would hurt me. But it just made me angry. And helped me to see how ludicrous it all really is.
Just keep your chins up, good things are in store for those who make it happen.

Help!! I am extremely confused.
by Leander ini'm at a definite crossroad in my life right now and i don't know which direction to turn.. for my entire life i've been taught to believe in one thing but now i'm seeing things that i never knew where there before.
i find it very disturbing that there has been so many predictions the wts has made in the past that failed to come true.
also the bouncing back and forth on certain doctrines make me question my beliefs.. but on the other hand i can't ignore things like the fact the organization is growing while other religions are on the decline.

Leander,
There have been many good suggestions made here and there isn't a whole lot I can add. I would like to say that most of us have been where you are at right now.
One thing that was of immeasurable help to me was cutting back on all the requirements the Society puts upon you. You are just so very busy all the time that it seems you have little time to think for yourself and analyze things. When I had more time on my hands things became much clearer to me.
I can't really suggest exactly what you should do, but I became less regular at the meetings and field service. That extra time (I also was not reading the publications voraciously) afforded me time to analyze my true feelings and be able to put things together in my head that had been floating around for many years. Only you can decide what is best for you as a person. But having enough time to really take care of yourself is extremely important IMO. Being that you are a MS and probably a family man your time is at a premium. So take the time and measures you need to figure it out.
I also would suggest reading Crises of Conscience. I was very wary of reading "apostate" material, but it helped me a lot. It certainly wasn't what I expected. It was a very kind and loving muse of an older gentleman who still very strongly believes in the Bible and is currently pursueing that. He had valid questions about the Bible and Bible prophecies and diligently studies.
Give it some thought. And do what is best for you!!

Excellent summation. But I think LT might be right just one more category.

I am so sorry, didn't realize it had deteriorated to that point. Hope you are OK.

Welcome to all you new one's. Steven wish I had had the nerve you and your wife had. Took me a lot longer.
And as for the pioneers, me too!! I think it is the "strong" one's who eventually have the nerve to go for it!

JW Response to NGO/UN info
by Andrew Farrell infollowing is the response of a jw to the information regarding the un/ngo status of the watchtower society.
it seems not all will see with clarity the hypocritical position of the organisation in this matter:.

Thanks for posting that response Andrew. I have been kicking around the idea of sending the information to my father. I am still not sure what I will do. But this does give me an idea of how an intelligent well read Witness would respond. It doesn't make me very happy.

Teirce,
My parents were there for about eight years I think. But they were in Edgemont during the years you mentioned. Still there in the new KH.
Seigswife,
It almost always rains on AB, but I am glad you enjoyed it anyway.
Either or both of you may email me I have an open box.
Teirce, I don't have a problem using names privately.

Bobsgirl,
Hetero, yeah me too. But I do think that if we are attune to our inner self, we could all have these experiences.
Too cool that the Mormon actually came back to tell you. I am impressed!
Brigette,
Keep talking, I like your philosophy.
Larc and Tina,
To each his own.
